MPS Stellar athlete Arjun grabs another medal for country
Modern Public School star athlete, Arjun, has once again made a dazzling mark on the international sports stage, securing a Bronze medal in Javelin Throw at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games held in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, on August 10th. Among the 8 athletes representing India in the prestigious Commonwealth Games, Arjun's achievement contributed to India's total of 1 Silver and 3 Bronze medals in athletics.
New Delhi: Modern Public School star athlete, Arjun, has once again made a dazzling mark on the international sports stage, securing a Bronze medal in Javelin Throw at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games held in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, on August 10th. Among the 8 athletes representing India in the prestigious Commonwealth Games, Arjun's achievement contributed to India's total of 1 Silver and 3 Bronze medals in athletics.
India's 35-member contingent participated in cycling, triathlon, swimming, and athletics at the seventh Commonwealth Youth Games. This multi-sport event, traditionally held every four years since its inception in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 2000, attracted participants from 71 Commonwealth nations and territories. Athletes competed in seven sporting disciplines: athletics, beach volleyball, cycling, netball fast 5, rugby sevens, swimming, and triathlon.

Arjun's recent achievements also include a silver medal at the 5th Asian Youth Athletics Championship in Uzbekistan. Remarkably, he is the only Javelin thrower to have won Silver medals at two different editions of the Asian Youth Athletics Championship in Kuwait and Uzbekistan, respectively. Modern Public School (MPS), Shalimar Bagh, has played a pivotal role in nurturing Arjun's career in track and field athletics. The school has provided him with top-notch javelin and training equipment, facilitating his training during school hours with corresponding adjustments to his classes.
