A children's painting competition on environmental protection was organized by the Master Printer's Welfare Association Gorakhpur in association with the Kasturi Madhav Sewa Sansthan. The painting competition for young primary students from class one to eight to raise awareness and foster creativity among the young participants. The competition aimed to inspire children to think about the importance of protecting our planet and to express their ideas and concerns through art. Participants were encouraged to depict themes such as pollution control, conservation of natural resources, and the beauty of nature. The event not only provided a platform for young artists to showcase their talent but also served as an educational experience, highlighting the critical role that everyone, especially the younger generation, plays in safeguarding the environment.

This on-the-spot painting competition was held at the Pitamber Dharamshala, Gorakhpur on 8 June 2024, where more than 120 students from various primary schools of Gorakhpur participated for this first of its kind competition at Gorakhpur. Speaking on the occasion Brij Bihari Agrawal, Chief Guest, appreciated the efforts of the Master Printer's Welfare Association Gorakhpur and said, one important point is that children must develop positive associations with nature. They need to have positive memories of their time spent outdoors to develop the desire to protect the nature, and positive experiences can only be had when exposure is provided. He also distributed small fruit and flower plants to promote environmental protection and encouraged everyone to nurture these plants to ensure their longevity. Certificate of participation and Medals and Prizes were also presented to the winning students by Agrawal. 

Earlier welcoming the chief guest and the participating students, Manish Chopra, President MPWA, Gorakhpur said, "This children's painting competition on environmental protection is more than just an art event. It is a vital initiative to educate and inspire our young generation about the importance of preserving our planet. By engaging children in creative activities that highlight environmental issues, we are fostering a sense of responsibility and encouraging them to be proactive in protecting our natural resources. These young minds will grow up to be the stewards of our environment, and it is crucial that we instil in them the values of sustainability and conservation from an early age."

Together, we have taken an important step towards raising environmental awareness and fostering a culture of conservation in our community.
