The multi-hued Rang Mahotsav’ 2025 commenced today in Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak (MDU) with the flower festival Rang-Bahar.

Rohtak, March 19, 2025: The multi-hued Rang Mahotsav’ 2025 commenced today in Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak (MDU) with the flower festival Rang-Bahar.
The flower show festival Rang-Bahar celebrating the gift of nature saw competitive events on flower arrangement, floral jewellery making, cut flowers, potted floral exhibits, rangoli, photography, reel making and selfie contests.
Chief Guest of Rang-Bahar inauguration session, Major General Jagdeep Singh Cheema, ADC, NCC Directorate (Haryana, Pujanb, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh) gave a clarion call to nurture nature and preserve the environment. He praised the efforts of MDU administration to promote environmental causes through Rang Bahar festival. He said youth must come forward for nation-building and be disciplined, good citizens.
MDU Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajbir Singh in his presidential address said that Rang Mahotsav is an endeavor to provide students with an enabling environment where they can hone their skills, and have experiential learning. Prof. Rajbir Singh said that Rang Mahotsav is a platform for learning beyond classrooms.
MDU Registrar Dr. Krishan Kant speaking as Guest of Honour said that the floral festival is a celebration of nature, flowers, creative arts, and youthful energy. Flowers give us valuable lessons of life. He recited an inspirational poem- Ek Pushp Ki Abhilasha on the occasion.
Dean, Students’ Welfare Prof. Randeep Rana delivered the welcome address and threw light on the aims and objectives of Rang Mahotsav. Convenor of the Rang-Bahar, Prof. Vinita Hooda expressed the Vote of Thanks.
Brigadier H.S. Burn (NCC) and Rahul Kumar, President, Rose Society (NCR) graced the inaugural session along with senior university functionaries, faculty members, university officials and students.
Chairperson, Rehabilitation Council of India Dr. Sharanjeet Kaur was the Chief Guest of the closing ceremony of Rang Bahar. She gave away prizes to the winners of various competitive events. She said that Rang Bahar is a perfect platform for celebrating the floral glory of M.D. University which attracts visitors from far and wide.
Notably, two workshops on plant propagation and Medicinal Plants were also held as part of the Rang Bahar event. Thousands of visitors thronged the Rang-Bahar event held at MDU campus.
