Multicultural event under theme “Education, Peace, and Development Through World Folk Exchange”
Guru Hargobind Khalsa Colleges, Gurusar Sadhar, comprising the Degree College, Education College, and College of Pharmacy, orchestrated a multicultural event under the theme "Education, Peace, and Development Through World Folk Exchange".
Ludhiana, January 31, 2024: Guru Hargobind Khalsa Colleges, Gurusar Sadhar, comprising the Degree College, Education College, and College of Pharmacy, orchestrated a multicultural event under the theme "Education, Peace, and Development Through World Folk Exchange."
The event featured the Tierra Mestiza International Folk Dance Company, showcasing the diverse cultures of Punjab and Mexico. During the event, the cultural ensemble from Mexico illuminated the stage with a rich display of their country's cultural diversity, treating the audience to captivating dance performances. Simultaneously, students from the three colleges, including Khalsa Collegiate Public Senior Secondary School College Campus, presented lively Punjabi cultural acts, enhancing the overall experience. Principal Prof. Inderjit Singh expressed in his address that the program aims to foster cultural intimacy, allowing participants to recognize the unique aspects and shared elements of diverse cultures through mutual understanding.
The multicultural festival began with the rendition of the Shabad "Dehi Shiva Bar Mohe Ehe" by students from the college's music department.
Principal Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha from the College of Education extended a warm welcome to all the guests.
Director of Punjab Cultural Promotion Council, India, Dr. Davinder Singh Chhina, in his address, introduced the Mexican artists and shared the experiences of their visit to Punjab with the audience. He stated that nowhere in the world can one find a personality equal to Guru Sahiban, who has spoken about world peace and commonality in such a strong and practical manner. While sharing memories of previous years' programs, he mentioned that this college is the leading college in Punjab, consistently striving to maintain its status. This is the reason why this group chose to organize this program in this college once again.
Concluding the event, Dr. Satbinder Kaur, Principal of the College of Pharmacy, expressed gratitude to all in attendance.
Dr. Davinder Singh Chhina and the Mexican group were honored by the College Governing Council. Stage management throughout the program was handled by Dr. Sohan Singh and Dr. Jasleen Kaur.
Others present on this occasion included S. Charnjit Singh, Dr. H.S. Brar, Dr. Jagjit Singh Brar and Dr. Sarabjit Kaur Ranu.
The program concluded with the national anthem.
