Mumbai, November 28, 2018: Mumbai is the host city for FAB Biennale, 2018-2019, India’s first architecture biennale for innovators from the field of design and architecture at Famous Studios, Mahalaxmi on December 1 & 2, 2018. A first of its kind knowledge sharing platform, the FAB Biennale themed ‘OPEN’ will commission knowledgeable sessions, at its inaugural conference, led by globally renowned architects and designers like Mick Timpson, Kate Ascher, Allison Dring, Michael Hansmeyer and Neil Leach who have established compelling and disruptive designs globally. The Biennale will also host a series of workshops titled Studio 2.0, conducted at multiple venues like School of Environment and Architecture (SEA) at Borivali and Indian School of Design & Innovation (ISDI) at Lower Parel which will be based on topics like Architectural Design using Virtual Reality, Future of Design and Empowering the Inner Architect.

These two days of the thoughtfully curated FAB Biennale’s inaugural conference and workshops will witness coming together of ace designers, architects and global disruptors from the design space. It will witness coming together of thousand delegates pertaining to the field of architecture, designing, real estate, construction and similar. Adhering to its theme of ‘OPEN’, the FAB Biennale’s inaugural conference will present examples, proposals, elements of work at global standards that will exemplify essential qualities of architecture, through meticulously planned sessions, on topics based on modulation, richness and materiality of surface; the future of designing, global architecture and science of the past and history of the future. The workshops will be hosted by renowned national and international architects and will address the students, professionals and every stakeholder related to this field. The workshops will also have an interesting mix of topics and interactive sessions based on subjects like Digitization in Construction with Robotics, Reimagining Infrastructure for 21st Century, Shaping the future of cities and more.

Speaking about this unique initiative, Curator Sarita Vijayan said, “As a starting point, we wanted to heighten awareness of the FAB Biennale in the island city of Mumbai, which is a cultural hub and an epitome of heritage and architecture. This concept is very naive in India and we envision to bring the popular global concept of hosting a Biennale in Mumbai itself. This has given a streamlined platform to network and exchange ideas to every stakeholder in this field. Simultaneously the Biennale will exhort participants to be rigorous in their thoughts and creations and actively step out of their comfort zones to create an atmosphere where both, inclusivity and well-intentioned dissent thrive.”
