Ludhiana, May 24, 2018: Aiming to keep hygienic conditions and ensuring basic amenities in 'Vehra', a courtyard dwellings, a team led by Municipal Joint Commissioner Dr.Poonam Preet Kaur inspected the various Vehras on Thursday. Kaur also convened a meeting with the people living in the dwellings.
On being informed about the poor condition of sewage and water supply, she issued directions to the concern wings of the corporation. She asked them to give a detailed report about the problems of water and sewer supply pipeline in these 'Vehras'. Kaur also ordered them to ensure 'fogging' twice in a week here and spray 'black oil' on the stagnant water to destroy mosquito larvae.
She also asked the 'Vehras' owners to ensure resident do not litter openly and asked them to keep sweepers. She directed them to immediately improve cleanliness in these 'Vehras' otherwise MC would take action against them.
MC joint commissioner also said that awareness camps will be organized in these areas in coming months.
