This visit has undeniably bolstered Narendra Modi's standing among the heads of various foreign countries. Upon his arrival in New York, the Prime Minister received a warm welcome from the Indian community. It is evident that Prime Minister Modi envisions a "New India," a developed and prosperous nation. During his visit, Modi engaged with top US business tycoons, encouraging them to establish their operations in India. Notably, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and Twitter, expressed his intention to visit India in 2024, lauding Narendra Modi as a fan. Such endorsements highlight the growing admiration for the Indian Prime Minister.
In Washington D.C., Narendra Modi was greeted with a reception and honor by US President Joe Biden. During their meeting, Modi and Biden engaged with American and Indian executives, fostering increased cooperation between the two countries in areas such as artificial intelligence, semiconductor production, and space exploration. Prominent international CEOs, including Tim Cook from Apple, Sundar Pichai from Google, and Satya Nadella from Microsoft, were present during these discussions. Both leaders emphasized their commitment to pushing innovation and collaboration to new heights in the coming years. Additionally, the announcement of a major defense deal for manufacturing fighter jet engines in India signifies a significant milestone.
The honor bestowed upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi by US President Joe Biden, including a White House dinner, was a historic moment. Furthermore, the US government's decision to open new consulates in Bengaluru and Ahmedabad reinforces the growing closeness between India and the US.
In my opinion, India and the US are moving closer to each other, and if this positive trajectory continues in the coming years, the vision of a "New India" will undoubtedly be realized, transforming India into a developed country. With a population of 1.4 billion, India represents one of the largest markets in the world. The "Make in India" initiative facilitates the easy sale of indigenous products and provides multinational companies with an opportunity to generate increased income and revenue.
