Ludhiana: The National Covid Vaccine was launched at CMC&H Ludhiana today with Principal Dr Jayraj D Pandian getting the first dose of vaccine. Before the first dose was administered CMC&H had a small thanksgiving and dedicatory program. The Director Dr William Bhatti expressed gratitude and thanks to the central and state government and district health authorities for making this historical day possible.
The Principal Dr Jayraj D Pandian talked about how this is a historical day for the whole community.
There is always a risk benefit for everything and he will be the first person to get the vaccine to encourage others to get the vaccine.
The Medical Superintendent, Dr Anil Luther reminded everyone not to listen to rumors on social media and be responsible with sharing messages. He encouraged the health care workers for the vaccination.
The thanksgiving and prayer was done by Rev. Alex Peter before starting the vaccination.
Dr Mohinder Singh, Deputy Medical Commissioner from Civil Surgeon office was present during the vaccination programme.
The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
The vaccination began at the scheduled time and many Senior and junior doctors took the vaccine on the first day at around 16 per hour.
Dr Deepshikha Kamra, Nodal Officer and Dr Lydia Soloman, Medical Officer Covid 19 vaccine spoke about the vaccine and also described the programme and importance of this vaccine.
