NATIONAL DENGUE DAY ORGANISED AT MERITORIOUS SCHOOL
SCHOOL STUDENTS EDUCATED ABOUT WAYS TO SAVE THEM FROM DENGUE, CHIKUNGUNYA, & OTHER DISEASES Ludhiana, May 16, 2019: On the directions of Civil Surgeon Ludhiana Dr Parvinderpal Singh Sidhu, National Dengue Day was organised under the leadership of District Epidemiologist Dr Ramesh Kumar at Senior Secondary Residential School for Meritorious Students, here today. Dr Ramesh Kumar informed that May 16 is observed as National Dengue Day, where residents are educated about ways with which they can save themselves from Dengue. Today, the district-level function was organised in the premises of Senior Secondary Residential School for Meritorious Students, here, in which a large number of students participated. A quiz competition about dengue, chikungunya and other diseases was also organised and the winners were awarded with prizes. The mass media wing of Health Department also organised an exhibition related to prevention of dengue fever. While addressing the students, the Civil Surgeon educated them about ways through which they can save themselves from dengue, chikungunya, malaria, zika virus, besides other diseases that occur during summers and rainy season. Awareness camps regarding Dengue, Chikungunya and other diseases were also organised in Civil Hospitals, Sub Division Hospitals and Private Hospitals in all blocks of the district.
