National Forest Employees’ Forum organises tree plantation
Chandigarh, December 1, 2019: National Forest Employees’ Forum(NFEF), organised planting of 9 saplings of state tree – Mango, at Baikunth Dham Shiv Temple, Sector 47 here. The plantation was done under the supervision of Prabhunath Shahi, President, NFEF. On this occasion members of the forest forum, office-bearers of Chandigarh Employees’ Union, families of Purvanchal residing in Chandigarh, members of Triveni Foundation, Jai Madhusudan Jai Shri Krishna Sewa Society members and children were present. Sweets and reading material were also distributed to the children. It is noteworthy that Prabhunath Shahi, a former flight engineer of the Indian Air Force, along with forest inspector and officers of forest department of Chandigarh is doing a lot of social work for protection of the environment. Shahi said, “Environment is ‘God’. The five elements of our nature are part of God and to protect the environment is our ultimate religion. Therefore, we should emphasize on more plantations of trees and do away with use of plastics to protect the environment.” The sapling plantation was done to mark the birthday celebration of Shahi. Shahi motivated those present and the public at large, to do something for society and environment on their birth anniversary celebrations.
