National Level Basketball Player to teach Physics at Oakridge International
Oakridge International School recruits Harshini from CGC Landran Harshini Madan, final year student of Bachelors of Education at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran has recently been offered a job opportunity by Oakridge International School, Mohali, the only IB (International Baccalaureate) School in Tricity. Harshini, who was a National Level Basketball Player during her graduation days at Government College for Girls, says, “I scored 180/200 in Physics during my Graduation and thus I further chose to pursue Maters in Physics under Panjab University. I gradually shifted my interest from Basketball to Physics by realising that I can do wonders in the field of Teaching”. Being inspired by her mother who is a Music Teacher at YPS, Mohali Harshini chose to opt for B.Ed from CGC Landran where she got the opportunity to intern with Oakridge International School, Mohali. “I cleared many rounds during the Interview which comprised of Personal Interviews and 3 demos before being promoted from an Intern to a Full-time Teacher”, she added. Other 72 B.Ed Passouts from Chandigarh College of Education, CGC Landran, have been placed during their Mega Job Fest ‘Lakshay’ at premier institutes like St. Joseph’s, Doon International School, Guru Harkrishan Model School, The British School and Sacred Heart. The institution has signed MoUs with reputed schools and colleges in the region ensuring excellent internship opportunities for its students and brightening their chances of getting hired by the same institutions, during and/or post completion of their training.
