In the view of National Nutrition Month, Department of Dietetics, DMC&H in association with IAPEN Ludhiana chapter and IDA Punjab Chapter conducted a session for Nursing Staff on Nutritional Screening and Assessment tool today in Dumra  Auditorium, Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, September 23, 2024: In the view of National Nutrition Month, Department of Dietetics, DMC&H in association with IAPEN Ludhiana chapter and IDA Punjab Chapter conducted a session for Nursing Staff on Nutritional Screening and Assessment tool today in Dumra  Auditorium, Ludhiana.

The speaker for the session was Dr Jaspreet Kaur, Associate Professor and Head Department of Home Science, GCG, Ludhiana.

The event was inaugurated Treasurer Mukesh Verma, Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, Dr Sandeep Sharma, Faculty members from Department of  Dietetics DMC&H and Nursing staff of DMC&H also graced the occasion.

In his message, Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society congratulated to the Department of Dietetics for conducting insightful session. He stressed that it is very crucial to identify the patients who are malnourished to provide them best nutritional support for their speedy recovery.

Dr. G.S. Wander principal DMC&H  emphasised the importance of the Nutritional Screening and noting its dual benefits. Dr Jaspreet Kaur said that Nutritional Screening can be done by any healthcare professionals, it serves as a valuable resource in clinical practice, aiding in the identification of nutritional deficiencies or needs.

Chief Dietitian Shaveta Batta also emphasized significant role of nutritional assessment and timely intervention in reducing hospital stays and improving their overall well-being of patients by addressing nutritional issues early, ultimately contributing to more efficient recovery and better health outcomes.
