National sculpture and painting camps organized at LPU

Jalandhar: Department of Fine Arts at Lovely Professional University organized National traditional & modern sculpture and painting camps at the campus. Running simultaneously, twelve-day sculpture camp presented 30+ captivating wood, metal, stone, and scrap works; whereas, six-day painting camp brought forth 40+ enthralling paintings. Both of the art camps explored tender shades of life in animated colours and forms. For nurturing finesse and enthralling artistic fervour at the campus, the Department had collaborated with India’s best Karnataka Shilpakala and Lalitkala Academies.
Participating artists from across the country, LPU faculty members and all students of the Fine Arts department worked together to create novel art works.  Visiting artists enlightened about the importance of traditional and modern art forms in the society. They upheld that visual art is a unique medium of communication even before the script exits. To promote artists and their works, LPU Department of Fine Arts anticipates an art-museum at the campus to preserve and showcase the art-beauties created by the students and visiting artists on various intervals and occasions.
Art Camps developed lot of opportunities for professionalism and personal growth of the students. Visiting national artists praised LPU for its spacious studios, infrastructure and other facilities accorded to the students. The camps, indeed, provided holistic approach and wide exposure to participating students belonging to different specializations. The artists proved their knack and passion by creating different artworks under different titles using their creativity and passion. The camps were basically for the students to get in with the new techniques with the traditional and modern methods of creating art.
During both of the two events, LPU Pro Chancellor Mrs Rashmi Mittal, Director General Er H R Singla, Chairman Shilpa Kala Academy Veeranna M Arkasalli, Registrar R. Chandra Shekhara, Chairman of Lalit kala Academy D Mahendra, Executive Dean Dr Sanjay Modi, Associate Dean Dr Pavitar P Singh, and HoD Dr Manav Preet Kaur Arora inspired and awarded the participating artists for their exquisite works.
Pro Chancellor Mrs Mittal expressed her admiration for art, artisans, artistic works  for art’s sake and interacted with each artist while witnessing their stories on canvas and in forms.  Chairman M Arkasali informed that from now onwards his academy will be regularly inviting LPU artists for various camps & competitions in Karnataka. This will float multiple opportunities for artists to connect and share their works with other prodigious artists. One of the visiting artists, Gorakh M Bhavsar expressed all praise for LPU and its students. Dr Modi observed the camps as phenomenal happening at the campus. Dr P P Singh highlighted the contribution of artists, which unites people through their various art forms. HoD Dr Arora expressed her happiness on setting a new benchmark by the artists at the department.
