National Seminar on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar ‘s Vision at PU

Grant of Rs.5 lakh announced by Hon’ble Governor of Haryana Chandigarh, December 6, 2018: A National Seminar, to commemorate the Mahaparinirvan Diwas of Dr.Bhim Rao Ambedkar, was organised by Dr.Ambedkar Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh, here today on the theme, ‘Dr.B.R. Ambedkar ‘s Vision on Protection of Social and Economic Sections’. Governor of Haryana, Sh.Satyadeo Narain Arya highlighting the life long struggle of Baba Sahib, in his inaugural address, praised Dr.Ambedkar’s effort to unify India and bring harmony and unity by ending all kind of discriminations on the name of caste and creed. He also highlighted the need of all educated citizens of India to work for the betterment of the poor while devoting some time beyond their duty hours. He urged the society to take inspiration from the life of Baba Sahib. He urged all to be educated, to struggle and to be organized which are the key ingredients for the overall development of the nation. Governor announced grant of Rs. 5 lakhs for the Centre to celebrate significant days in the life of Baba Sahib and also to enable the student fulfil the dreams of Modern India while following the vision of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He praised Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji for his efforts to implement the vision of Dr. Ambedkar though schemes like’ Sab ka Sath Sabka Vikas’ and ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padao’. Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, in his address said that Baba Sahib remained a noble and guiding force of modern Indian with his honest effort in managing varied voices in one constitution. Prof. Devinder Singh highlighted the achievement of the Centre while giving vote of thanks. The seminar witnessed active participation from around 100 academicians, researchers and students.
