National Seminar on “75 Years of Independence: The Gandhian Perspective”
The Department of Gandhian and Peace Studies at Panjab University successfully concluded a two-day National Seminar, “75 Years of Independence: The Gandhian Perspective,” held on August 17th and 18th. The seminar brought together scholars, experts, and participants for insightful discussions, technical sessions, and cultural celebrations.
Chandigarh, August 19, 2023: The Department of Gandhian and Peace Studies at Panjab University successfully concluded a two-day National Seminar, “75 Years of Independence: The Gandhian Perspective,” held on August 17th and 18th. The seminar brought together scholars, experts, and participants for insightful discussions, technical sessions, and cultural celebrations.
Eminent scholars, distinguished faculty members, and enthusiastic participants engaged in vibrant discussions throughout the seminar. Notable among the speakers was Dr. G. V. Subramanian, Director of Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Kolkata, who shared his invaluable insights along with Professor Dhurjati Mukherjee. The Guest of Honour, Dr. Madhukar Malhotra, Secretary of Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Chandigarh, further enriched the dialogue.
The seminar’s schedule was carefully curated to provide a comprehensive understanding of India’s journey. The Inaugural Session was graced by presidential address by Professor Anju Suri, Dean Faculty of Arts . Professor Emanuel Nahar was the key speaker of the Valedictory Session. Professor elaborated the whole Journey of 75 years of Independence in a very simple way.
The conclusion of the seminar seamlessly transitioned into lively Teej celebrations, characterized by a sense of cultural unity. Traditional delicacies such as Kheer, Pakoras, and Malpuras were enjoyed, enhancing the festive spirit.
