Chandigarh, January 30, 2025: The two-day national seminar on "Literature, Philosophy & Ideology: Inter-Dialogue" concluded at Panjab University.
 
The national seminar was organised by the School of Punjabi Studies in collaboration with ICSSR, Panjab University, and the Punjab Arts Council. The seminar was dedicated to the memory of Dr. Surjit Patar. The final day featured two insightful academic sessions followed by a valedictory ceremony.

The first academic session was chaired by Prof. Harjeet Gill and Prof. Ishwar Dayal Gaur. Research papers were presented by Dr. Harpreet Singh, Dr. Pawan Kumar, Ranjit Kaur, and Manpreet Kaur. On this occasion, Prof. Harjeet Gill led a thought-provoking discussion on literature, philosophy, and ideology, offering deep insights into the subject.
 
During this session, the poetry collection of young poetess Rishika Rikhi, written in English, was officially launched. Prof. Navdeep provided a brief analysis of the collection, while Prof. Harjeet Gill recited one of Rishika’s poems, adding a literary charm to the event.
 
The second academic session was chaired by Prof. Rajinderpal Singh Brar. Research papers were presented by Jashanpreet Kaur, Mehtab Singh, Jasbir Singh, and Harjeetinder Singh. Prof. Brar facilitated a detailed discussion on the presented papers, offering constructive feedback and valuable suggestions to the scholars.
The valedictory ceremony featured a keynote address by Prof. Harjeet Gill. Prof. Sanjay Kaushik (Dean, College Development Council, Chandigarh) attended as a distinguished guest, along with Prof. Raunki Ram, Dr. Jaspal Singh, and Dr. Satinder Pal who shared their reflections on the seminar’s discussions and outcomes. Dr. Paramjit Kaur Sidhu presented a comprehensive report summarizing the key takeaways from the two-day event.
 
In his closing remarks, Prof. Yog Raj, Chairman of the School of Punjabi Studies, expressed immense satisfaction over the successful execution of the seminar. He extended his gratitude to all the esteemed guests, scholars, and students for their active participation and contributions, making the event a meaningful and enriching experience.
