National SKOCH Silver Award 2017 for e-Vidhan

Dharamshala, September 12, 2017: Speaker of Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Sh.B.B.L.Butail expressed today his gladness that National SKOCH Silver Award, 2017 has been conferred for Smart Governance in H. P.Vidhan Sabha by implementing e-Vidhan System successfully, which is the highest independent honour in India.
In the year 2014, with the initiative of Speaker Shri Brij Behari Lal Butail, the e-Governance solution e-Vidhan was implemented in the H.P.Vidhan Sabha. As a result, the working of House including various House Committees and its Secretariat have become online.
By implementing e-Vidhan, Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha has got the distinction of becoming India's first ever paperless Hi-tech Vidhan Sabha. It resulted in huge saving of papers, money, trees and environment.
The e-Vidhan is a joint effort of H.P.Vidhan Sabha, MeitY, NIC and NICSI.
It is added here that Sh.Dharmesh Sharma, Director (IT) H. P.Vidhan Sabha received the National SKOCH Silver Award 2017 for the Smart Governance during the 49th SKOCH Summit at Constitution Club of India, Rafi Marg, New Delhi. Earlier, SKOCH Order-of Merit-Award, 2017 was received by him on 8th September, 2017 for e-Vidhan at New Delhi during the Summit.
