Chandigarh, November 20, 2024: National Symposium, Bio-CAMP 2024 concluded at Panjab University (PU). The national symposium “Waste to Wealth” was hosted by the Biotechnology Branch, PU UIET in collaboration with Panjab University Incubation Centre (PUIC) and Society for Biological Engineering (SBE), UIET, PU.
During the two day symposium, the experts deliberated on leveraging innovative technologies for effective waste management, focusing on energy generation, material recycling and resource extraction. Expert speakers from government institutes and industries enlightened students how they can contribute to the society in relevant research areas. Students presented posters which were evaluated and best posters were awarded with attractive prizes in order to increase enthusiasm among students.
The inauguration of the event was done by Hon’ble Chief Guest, Navneet K. Srivastava, Director Department of Science and Technology and Renewable Energy, Chandigarh Administration in presence of Prof. Sanjeev Puri, Director, UIET, PU. Navneet Srivastava addressed participants and specifically urged upon collaborative and interdisciplinary research for fruitful outcome.
Director, UIET, Prof. Sanjeev Puri congratulated Prof. Shailendra Arya, Coordinator, Biotechnology Branch, UIET, Panjab University; Organizing Secretary, Dr. Mary Chatterjee, Assistant professor, Biotechnology Branch, UIET, Panjab University, all faculty and staffs of Biotechnology branch, students representatives of the organizing committee for holding symposium in an environmentally relevant field.
On the eve of World Women Entrepreneurship Day, alumni women entrepreneurs of Biotechnology branch shared their journey with students and encouraged students to start new ventures with their innovative ideas. Various minds games and events were arranged by team SBE. This was the most attractive part of the whole event among students. Winners were felicitated with exciting prizes.
