National Technology Day Celebrations at DAVIET Jalandhar  

Jalandhar, May 12, 2023: The Department of Civil Engineering, under the aegis of the American Society of Civil Engineering’s Local Chapter (ASCE), celebrated National Technology Day enthusiastically on the DAVIET campus. National Technology Day is significant for India, commemorating the successful nuclear tests conducted at Pokhran in 1998. The day serves as a reminder of technology’s important role in shaping our nation’s future. In recognition of this day, DAVIET Jalandhar organized an event that brought together students, experts, and thought leaders to discuss the importance of innovation and technology in driving progress and development.

Dr. M.K Kaushik, from the Department of Civil Engineering, delivered the welcome address and stressed the importance of technology in our day-to-day life. 

In his address, Dr. Sanjeev Naval, the principal (O) of DAVIET Jalandhar,  highlighted the history and importance of National Technology Day and emphasized technology’s role in shaping the nation’s future. Dr. Naval emphasized the importance of innovation and technology in shaping the nation’s future and how it can be leveraged to solve pressing societal problems. He stressed that the nation’s youth has a vital role in driving progress and development and encouraged the students to embrace the spirit of innovation and technology in pursuit of their goals. His emphasis on the importance of technology and innovation gave students valuable insights into how they can use their knowledge and skills to impact society positively. He also welcomed the resource person, Mr. Raghav Sharma, and Mr. Aditya from Think India, who were the keynote speakers for the event.

Raghav Sharma, Founder, and CEO of Xovian Aerospace Pvt Ltd, delivered an inspiring address at the National Technology Day Celebrations at DAVIET Jalandhar. He shared his journey to space exploration and provided valuable insights into business and entrepreneurship. Mr. Sharma emphasized that failure should not discourage individuals who are passionate about their goals. He also highlighted the importance of innovation and technology in driving progress and growth. Mr. Sharma encouraged the students to pursue their goals with passion and determination and embrace the spirit of innovation and technology to pursue their dreams. He emphasized that entrepreneurship is about starting a business, creating value, and making a difference.

Another speaker at the event was Aditya from Think India, who delivered a talk on the role of technology in solving societal problems. He emphasized the importance of using technology to create positive change and highlighted the role of youth in driving innovation and progress. Mr. Aditya’s talk gave students valuable insights into how they can use their knowledge and skills to make a difference in the world.
