Nauni University to celebrate 36th Foundation Day on Dec 1
The University was established on 1st December 1985
Nauni (Himachal Pradesh): Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni will be celebrating its 36th Foundation on 1st December. Governor of Himachal Pradesh and Chancellor of the university Shri Bandaru Dattatreya will preside over the function while Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur will be the Chief Guest. Horticulture Minister Shri Mahender Singh, Agriculture Minister Shri Virender Kanwar, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Rajiv Saizal and Forest Minister Shri Rakesh Pathania will be the Guests of Honour. The Governor, Chief Minister and the Guests of Honour will be joining the function virtually.
The celebrations are being conducted in the online and offline mode at the main campus in Nauni, various research stations and Krishi Vigyan Kendras located in different parts of the state. Progressive farmers and meritorious students will be awarded during the function. The various achievements of the university in the past year will be highlighted at the event.
The University was established on 1st December 1985 to promote education, research and extension education in the fields of Horticulture, Forestry and allied disciplines. Though formally established in 1985, the university has its roots in the College of Agriculture, Solan, which started functioning in 1962. Since its inception, the university has had a long history of excellence in education, research and extension. The combined efforts of its scientists, staff and students have brought great laurels to Himachal Pradesh in Horticulture and Forestry.
