Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa takes charge as DC SBS Nagar
Will accord top priority to providing a clean, transparent and responsive administration to people- Randhawa
Nawanshahr, April 20, 2022: Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa, a 2013-batch IAS officer on Wednesday assumed charge as as the new Deputy Commissioner of Shaheed Bhagat Singh (SBS) Nagar.
Randhawa has replaced Vishesh Sarangal who has been posted as DC Kapurthala last week.
Randhawa had earlier served as Chief Executive, PEDA, and had the additional charge of Secretary, Punjab State Information Commission.
While speaking to media persons, Randhawa said that top priority would be accorded to ensure clean, transparent and responsive administration to the people. He said that it is a matter of great pride to serve the land of legendary freedom fighter and icon of country Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
Recalling his long association with Khatkar Kalan, Randhawa said that when he was director
Director, Cultural and Tourism Affairs, his department had carried out renovation works of the ancestral house of martyr and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Museum and Memorial.
He said he would carry forward welfare programmes and policies of the state government to safeguard the interests of weaker and underprivileged sections of society.
He said that district administration is duty-bound to facilitate the people coming for their works in the government departments.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner was also given a guard of honour at the administrative complex by a contingent of the Punjab Police.
He also paid obeisance at the local Gurudwara in the village.
On arriving at district administrative complex, Senior Superintendent of Police Sandeep Kumar Sharma, ADCs Jasbir Singh, Amit Kumar Sareen, Amardeep Singh Bains, Assistant Commissioner Deepankar Garg, DRO Ajit Pal Singh and others welcomed Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa.
Later, Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa also paid rich tributes to legendary Shaheed Bhagat Singh at his memorial situated at native village Khatkar Kalan and reiterated his commitment to serve this historic district with utmost dedication and zeal.
