Nawanshahr administration sets up election war room to monitor live polling
DC to keep surveillance through live streaming for ensuring free, fair and transparent voting
Voting will be held from 8 am to 6 pm on Sunday
Nawanshahr, February 19, 2022: In order to ensure a trouble-free, fair and transparent polling on Sunday, the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar administration has set up a war room at the district administrative complex on Saturday.
During visit to the election war room, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Vishesh Sarangal said that that whole polling exercise at all 614 polling booths would be monitored live through these TV screens installed in the room besides laptops with facility of high-speed internet for steady transmission of visuals from all these polling booths have been provided here to the manpower
Sarangal said that CCTV cameras have been installed in all booths for live webcasting and these are connected with high-speed internet to ensure uninterrupted streaming of voting exercise through which Chief Electoral Officer, and three of returning officers can monitor the process sitting from their offices.
He said that this would not only help prevent any malpractice but would also help to check voters standing in the queues, polling process in real-time etc. The Deputy Commissioner said that the trial runs for webcasting have already been conducted successfully.
The Deputy Commissioner said that voting would be held from 8 am to 6 pm on Sunday (February 20) and said that adequate arrangements for security have been done by administration and added that no stone would be left unturned for ensuring that the entire voting process gets completed peacefully.
He reiterated the firm commitment of the district administration to ensure free, fair and transparent voting and that he would leave no stone unturned for the successful holding of the festival of democracy.
