Nawanshahr DC exhorts youth to give ‘gift of life’ by donating blood

Nawanshahr, April 21, 2022: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa on Thursday exhorted the youth to come forward in large number and give ‘gift of life’ by donating blood to the people in need.
During a visit to a local blood bank being operated by the Blood Donors Council, the Deputy Commissioner said that their act of kindness by donating blood can save many precious lives.
NPS Randhawa said that the Punjabi youth have been making a mark in every field and they must not lag in this field, which is more pious service than anything.
The Deputy Commissioner said that every blood donor is a hero and they should regularly donate blood after every three months.
He also asked them to motivate their peers to become regular voluntary blood donors to ensure sufficient stocks of blood needed for routine and emergency treatment.
Randhawa who is also chairperson of Blood Donors Council applauded the efforts of the organization in creating awareness regarding blood donation and rendering selfless service to mankind. He also honoured a donor Inder Saini for donating the blood.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner was welcomed by the council at the blood bank.
Prominent among present on the occasion included Sulakhshan Kumar Sareen, Parvesh Kumar, Pushap Raj Kalia, J S Gidda, Dr Kuldeep Rai, Dr Dayal Sarup, Chief Manager O P Sharma and Inder Saini.

DM imposes section 144 around 56 exam centres
Nawanshahr, April 21, 2022: District Magistrate (DM) Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa on Thursday imposed section 144 within a 100-metre radius of examination centres where examinations for Class-10th and 12th term-II will be conducted from April 22 to May 23.
He said that a section has been imposed to prevent any kind of untoward incident and prohibit the entry of unauthorised persons around the exam centres.
