Need to empower creativity and innovation for a sustainable future
Pushpa Gurjal Science City organized the INNO-TECH 2024 in collaboration with Inder Kumar Gujral Punjab Technical University to commemorate the 19th Annual Day of Science City. More than 400 students from different Engineering & Polytechnic colleges of Punjab demonstrated their innovative models at this occasion. A team of experts from NIT Jalandhar and Thapar Institute evaluated the models.
Kapurthala, March 19, 2024: Pushpa Gurjal Science City organized the INNO-TECH 2024 in collaboration with Inder Kumar Gujral Punjab Technical University to commemorate the 19th Annual Day of Science City. More than 400 students from different Engineering & Polytechnic colleges of Punjab demonstrated their innovative models at this occasion. A team of experts from NIT Jalandhar and Thapar Institute evaluated the models.
Dr. Susheel Mittal, Vice Chancellor IKG Punjab Technical University was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Delivering a captivating address, he motivated the budding engineers, ignited their passion for groundbreaking ideas and technological advancements. He emphasized on the pivotal role of creativity as well as application of science, technology and innovation, (STI) in achieving Sustainable Development Goals as well as in enhancing productivity, transforming the economy, creating jobs, advancing healthcare, ensuring food security, improving living conditions thus contributing to the overall prosperity of a society, he added.
At the occasion, Dr. Rajesh Grover, Director, Science City, highlighted the pressing challenges facing our world today, ranging from climate change to global health crises. He emphasized that innovation is the key to addressing these challenges, offering fresh perspectives, technologies, and approaches. Dr. Grover called upon budding engineers, stressing that young minds are enriched with innovative ideas and possess the potential to unlock novel solutions as future leaders. Their contributions have the power to shape economies and foster sustainable growth for generations to come. Further, to support and nurture innovation and creativity in the region, Science City organizes INNOTECH every year on its Annual Day. This event serves as a platform for young participants to showcase their innovative project models to cultivate a culture of innovation and creativity, he added.
RESULTS:
Software Engineering : Chandigarh Group Colleges Landran Mohali (Project Model :Advance AI Drone ) and Sant Baba Bhag Singh University Hoshiarpur (Dos Attack and Its Mitigation ) has won first and second prize. In a Software Polytechnic category Mehr Chand Polytechnic College Jalandhar ( Project Model:Bharat DaRPAN) stood first and Lovely Professional University (Lens care) got second prize.
Mechatronics (Engineering): GNA University Phagwara( Project tModel: CNC Machine), Chitkara University Chandigarh ( project Model: Automatic Robotic Arm) has achieved first and second prize. In a Mechatronics (Polytechnic): Govt. Polytechnic college Khuni Majra( Project Model: Water control & Management System) Lovely Professional University (Project Model: Eyes Control Wheel Chair) has clinched first, and second prize.
Automobile (Engineering) : Chandigarh Engineering College Landran Mohali ( Project Model: Electric Wheel Borrow ) stood First and GNA University(Electric Bike ) got second prize. In a Automobile (Polytechnic ) Mehr Chand Polytechnic College Jalandhar ( Project Model: Self Charging Bike ), and Guru Nanak Dev Polytechnic Ludhianaa (Foldable E -Bike) has Clinched first and second prize.
Miscellaneous (Engineering): Chitkara University (Project Model: Aqua TEC ) and IKG Punjab Technical University (renewable Electrical Energy Project ) has received first and second prize. Ina Miscellaneous (Polytechnic): Mehr Chand Polytechnic Jalandhar (Project Model: Solar Electric Pesticide sprayer ),Lovely Profession University (Project Model: Headsup Notification Display ) clinched first and second prize.
