"Neki ki Deevaar" - Building Walls of Kindness
The Zero Hunger Committee in collaboration with Empathy Club ,operating under the Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG 2) - Zero Hunger, initiated a commendable community service project in DRV DAV Centenary Public school, Phillaur. The primary objective was to encourage students to contribute towards alleviating hunger in our local community.
Jalandhar: The Zero Hunger Committee in collaboration with Empathy Club ,operating under the Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG 2) - Zero Hunger, initiated a commendable community service project in DRV DAV Centenary Public school, Phillaur. The primary objective was to encourage students to contribute towards alleviating hunger in our local community.
The committee organized a donation drive, urging students to contribute food items. The response was overwhelming, showcasing the collective empathy of the student body.
The donated eatables were centralized at "Neki ki Deevaar," a dedicated collection center within the school premises.
Student volunteers actively participated in sorting, categorizing, and packaging the donations. Once packed, these provisions were distributed to the slum areas in the vicinity, targeting areas with higher levels of need and NGO in Ludhiana.
The "Neki ki Deevaar" initiative by the Zero Hunger Committee exemplified the school's commitment to fostering a sense of responsibility and compassion among students.
Principal Dr Yogesh Gambhir stated "Happiest people are not those getting more, but those giving more." He further added that Through collective action, the project not only provided tangible support to those in need but also cultivated a spirit of empathy and humanitarianism among the student body.
