An educational, fun and entertainment-filled day for dialysis patients

Hyderabad, April 14, 2019: NephroPlus, India’s largest dialysis care network and a trailblazer in redefining dialysis care in India organized a day-long free, educational cum fun event for dialysis patients at the Manohar Hotel in Hyderabad today. Aashayein is the flagship annual event of NephroPlus held exclusively for dialysis patients. The educational program had a comprehensive discussion with Nephrologists, Urologists and Dieticians on the importance of leading a positive and normal life while on Dialysis, the process of kidney transplant, diet and stress management during the dialysis process.

More than 400 patients and their family members with a similar set of problems gathered together under one roof and talked to each other, heard people talking about their problems and most importantly – had fun. The event aimed to help dialysis patients by evaluating their awareness levels on the disease and self-care patterns, in addition to evaluating improvements in the quality of their lives.

Speaking on the occasion, Kamal D Shah, Co-Founder & Director of Guest Services, NephroPlus and himself on dialysis for the last 22 years said, “Through Aashayein, we wanted to show that dialysis patients can lead normal lives. At this event, patients hear Nephrologists, Urologists, Dieticians and most importantly, other dialysis patients talk about how to lead the life you want to and reduce dialysis to being just a small part of their life.”

There were also lots of fun activities, and an elaborate lunch that was prepared in accordance with the diet for the dialysis patients.
