A new block of Govt Primary School unveiled

Ludhiana, December 14, 2018: A new block of the school was dedicated to the students today by Dr.Rajinder Chawla, Chairman Asha Chinh Welfare Society at a well-attended function at Government Primary School, Churhpur. The ceremonial inauguration of the new building was performed by Balbir Singh District Education Officer (DEO), Ludhiana by unveiling the dedication stone.
The new block named ‘Aaftaab Block’ has been constructed by NGO Asha Chinh Welfare Society in the memory of Aaftaab Chawla son of Dr.Rajinder Chawla. The ultra-new building built at a cost of more than 15 Lakh rupees, comprisesof two class rooms, one music cum audio-video room and a multipurpose hall for mid-day meal for students and school functions. The building has been constructed with modern design and has been fully furnished by the society.
Speaking on the occasion DEO lauded the contribution of Asha Chinh to the upliftment of education in the region and appealed to other NGOs and the society in general to come forward to contribute to raise the standard of education for underprivileged children. Deputy District Education Officer, Mr. Kuldip Saini conveyed that the Govt Primary school, Chuhrpur has been included in the list of upcoming smart schools in the district. He also was all praise for the Principal of the school Mrs. Sumanpreet and said that her efforts and contribution from Asha Chinh has brought the Chuhrpur school on the map of most equipped Govt. schools of Punjab.The Principal announced that 16th December, the birthday of Aaftaab Chawla will be celebrated as Annual Day of the school every year.
Aaftaab Scholarship for meritorious students among the needy has also been instituted by the society. The scholarships certificates and cheques were distributed to six students of different school of Ludhiana.
A short cultural programme was presented by the young students of the school. Dr.Neena Chawla from Asha Chinh promised to take the upliftment of education in Govt schools further by taking up more similar developmental projects in near future.Others present on the occasion were Dr.P.K.Khanna, Ex-Registrar PAU,Dr.Mukti Gill, Principal Khalsa College for Women, Sushil Verma, Director S.D.P. Institutions, Dr. Kirti Dua, Director Wildlife conservation, GADVASU, Naveen Talwar, Proprietor Talwar Gas Agency along with Kuldip Bhatia (Senior Journalist) and S.P.Sharma from Asha Chinh.
