NEW PUNJAB DAY: Sukhbir greets Punjabis

Chandigah, October 31, 2012:The President of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today greeted the Punjabis on the New Punjab Day adding said that Punjab had made rapid strides in every sphere after its creation as new state.
In a press statement issued here today, Badal said that the ‘New Punjab Suba’ was the outcome of relentless efforts spearheaded by the Shiromani Akali Dal during its long struggle. Therefore, SAD was emotionally involved with the people of Punjab and was all concerned about their well being and prosperity. He said it was a historic fact that whatever progress has been made by Punjab that only took place during the regime of Akali Governments.
Staking claim to the territorial issues, Sukhbir Singh Badal reiterated that SAD was committed to resolve all the long pending demands like transfer of Chandigarh and Punjabi speaking areas in Punjab and rational sharing of river waters besides other related demands.
