Ludhiana: Many industries received notices to pay charges for use of road by Office of Zila Parishad. This is first time Zila Parishad issue notice to industrial units.
Already Industry has to obtain 23 clearances to name a few District Industries Centre, Punjab State Electricity Board, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Department of Town and Country Planning, Department of Labour, Department of Local Government, Department of Public Works, Department of Forests, Department of Fire and others, now another department jumped in. On one side Punjab Government is trying its level best to bring investment, another side 24th Department issuing notice to obtain clearance and pay charges.
Upkar Singh Ahuja, President and Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary, CICU wrote a letter to Capt Amarinder Singh Chief Minister of Punjab and Industry Minister Sunder Sham Arora, not to levy these charges.
On the other side exploring the legal aspect for the same and mentioned that industry will not pay any new taxes.
