“NGO Mela” to be organised at Nehru Rose Garden on Feb 27: DC Ludhiana
All NGOs to set up their kiosks educating residents about services offered by them: Mamta Ashu
Meeting with representatives of all prominent NGOs held at Bachat Bhawan today
Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma today informed that the “NGO Mela” would be organised at Nehru Rose Garden, Civil Lines on February 27, 2021. He informed that all prominent Ludhiana NGOs would participate in this special fair, that would be organised to educate the residents about the services being offered by these NGOs.
A meeting in this regard was organised at Bachat Bhawan, here today, which was attended by MC Councillor Mrs Mamta Ashu, ADC (D) Mr Sandeep Kumar, ADC (General) Mr Amarjit Bains, traffic expert Mr Rahul Verma, Mrs Poonam Sharma, besides a large number of members and representatives of NGOs.
While addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner specially thanked MC Councillor Mrs Mamta Ashu for coming up with this idea of organising such fair for the welfare of residents. He said that the main aim of “NGO Mela” is to ensure that the residents come to know which NGOs is working in which field so that maximum number of people can be benefitted from it.
He informed that the District Administration would also be setting up kiosks of various welfare schemes such as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Skill Development, Ghar Ghar Rozgar and Karobar Mission etc during this fair.
He urged members of all NGOs to get in touch with the office of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) in District Administrative Complex, here and get themselves registered for participating in “NGO Mela”. He also urged the residents to attend this fair in large numbers.
