NGOS DEMAND: Start Shatabadi from Ferozepur

Ferozepur, December 6, 2012: The Shatabadi Express will run on its maiden route of between Ludhiana-Delhi via Moga (12037-12038) from December 8, which has been approved by the Railways Ministry. 

The Railways have started preparation in this regard at Moga and Ludhiana railway stations and it has been confirmed by Divisional Rail Manager, N. C. Goyal.

As per sources, the approved route of Shatabadi Express is Ludhiana, Moga, Jakhal, Jind and Delhi and would return in the same route.

All arrangements to turn the train on tracks have been finalised. 

Presently, there is no plan to run this train from Ferozepur or include Ferozepur in the existing route. 

While the citizens of Moga are happy but the citizens of border town Feozepur have once again been ignored by not starting the Shatabadi Express from Ferozepur which was a long pending demand. 

NGOs president Inder Singh Gogia, Helping Handz Foundation Abhishek Arora, Streamline Welfare Society, Dr. Diwan Chand Sukhija, Discussions Group, Ashok Kumar Bajaj, (retd. ITO), when contacted said, it is the negligence on the part of the Railways for not starting the Shatabadi from Ferozepur which is the divisional headquarters of railways and all infrastructures is available. 

They further said that a memorandum will be submitted to the Railways Minister to extend the Shatabadi Express up to Feozepur.
