NGT directs Bengaluru Civic bodies to look into green violations by builder
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to look into a plea alleging violation of environmental norms by a builder in the city.
New Delhi, Sep 15 (IANS) The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to look into a plea alleging violation of environmental norms by a builder in the city.
As per the petitioner Girish Chandiramani, his application is against violation of environmental norms by Prospero Realty Limited, Bengaluru by encroachments and diversion of the drain at Amruthahalli village, Yelahana Hobli Bangalore North Taluk admeasuring 4 acres 20 Gunta owned by Renaissance Prospero Apartment owners.
Considering the matter, in a recent order, the principal bench of NGT headed by its chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel said: ".. let the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) look into the matter in the first instance and take remedial action in accordance with the law."
Accordingly, the order was disposed of.
The bench also directed a copy of the order, along with a copy of the complaint, be forwarded to the BDA and BBMP by email. "If any grievance survives, it will be open to the aggrieved party to take further remedies as per law," the order read.
