NHAI approves 4 entry/exit points on Delhi-Amritsar Highway (NH44): Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu
Mayor thanks Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu for personally taking up this issue with NHAI chairman
Ludhiana: Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu today said that in a good news for the residents, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has approved four entry and exit points within the Ludhiana Municipal Limits on the Delhi-Amritsar (NH44) national highway. He also specially thanked Punjab Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu for taking up this issue with the NHAI Chairman Sukhbir Singh Sandhu in the interest of the residents.
The Mayor informed that the entry and exit points have been planned near Dhandari, near SPS hospital, near Transport nagar and near Green Land School near Jalandhar Byepass. He said that with these entry and exit points, a large number of city residents using the NH44 for travel would be benefitted.
Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu informed that they have been taking up this issue with the NHAI officials from time to time. He said that this issue was also brought to the notice of NHAI Chairman Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, when he had visited Ludhiana on February 23, 2021.
MC Councillor Mamta Ashu informed that the service road near SPS Hospital has also been constructed. She said that this road was in very poor condition for last several months and the matter was taken up with senior NHAI officials, after which this road was constructed. Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu and MC Councillor Mamta Ashu had visited the site today and issued necessary directions to the officials.
