A Night of Stories: Immerse yourself in visual stories from all walks of life, as 91Springboard organises Mumbai’s first PechaKucha Night!

The unique, informal celebration of ideas, stories, and talent features a highly curated set of inspirational speakers sharing their stories through pictures

Mumbai, June 11, 2018: If a picture can say a thousand words, how about using 20 pictures to tell an entire story? Well, it's this unique concept that 91Springboard, India’s largest and coolest co-working community, is introducing to Mumbai for the city's first edition of PechaKucha Night. Scheduled to take place at 91Springboard in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex on June 16, 2018, the informal and fun-filled event will bring creators and innovators from all walks of life under one roof to share their inspirational stories – through 20 pictures!

Japanese for ‘Chit Chat’, PechaKucha was first organised in Tokyo back in February 2003 as an event for young designers to network and showcase their work in a public setting. Its unique presentation style has since become a global phenomenon in storytelling. PechaKucha Nights are today celebrated in hundreds of cities worldwide, inspiring creators across the globe.

91Springboard aims to recreate the convivial, collaborative environment of PechaKucha Nights with the first-of-its-kind event in Mumbai. With its simple 20x20 presentation format, the PechaKucha Night at 91Springboard BKC will have each speaker sharing their stories with the audience through 20 images, shown for 20 seconds each.

But most such knowledge-sharing events are very formal. We wanted to do something which was informal and quirky and yet represented a value-added proposition for all the attendees. This was what led us to kick-start PechaKucha in Mumbai. We’ve curated several influential speakers for the event who will be sharing their stories through this unique format, and are confident that it will be a successful, fun-filled, and highly-inspirational evening.”

The panel of speakers at the event are people who have traversed off the beaten path to chart a new course and create their own destinies. This includes Elita (Heart+Mind at Nomadic Thunker), Esha Sridhar (Founder – The Plane Jar), Kaushik Mukherjee (Co-founder – Fab Bag/Sugar Cosmetics), Astrid (Co-founder – Nirvana Adventures), Teena Kaur Pasricha (National Award-winning Independent Director/Producer/Screenwriter), Dedeepya Reddy (Founder – Chal Rang De), and Munaf Kapadia (Founder – The Bohri Kitchen).
