Ludhiana, August 6: As many as 250 patients were examined and treated during 127th Diabetes screening camp organised by NIMA and Diabetes Free World in Shivpuri.
Dr Surendra Gupta, Secretary, National Integrated Medical Association ( NIMA), Ludhiana District and Managing Director, 'Diabetes Free World' said camp was organised for detection of Diabetes Mellitus. Tests such as Blood Sugar Test, Blood Pressure, BMI (Weight and height related test indicative of obesity or fitness) and Neuropathy were held.
More than 130 poor diabetes patients on regular follow-up got benefited. Besides, eight new cases of diabetes were detected.
Dr. Gupta said timely detection of Diabetes, Hypertension, coronary vessel insufficiency was the most effective method to avoid life threatening complications. “Early Detection and Early Correction” is the only solution to the vexed problem of Diabetes and Hypertension”, he said, adding this was significant as more than 12% urban population was suffering from diabetes and 10-15% population was suffering from Hypertension.
