Nine CEOs and Founders of India’s top start-ups interacted with LPU students
Occasion was sessions for Conclave, Startup Pitching Competition and Networking
Jalandhar: LPU organized "Indian Start-Up Summit 2020” at Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium, where Chairman, Founders, Co-Founders, CEOs of established ‘Start-ups’ spurred LPU students to think on start-up based achieving entrepreneurial journey. Being themselves an embodiment of many a time ups and downs, these entrepreneurs shared their efforts and motivated thousands of LPU students to think big and adopt entrepreneurial career. On this occasion, LPU also organized ‘Idea Pitching Competition’ for the best start-up plans to let participating students win cash prize up to INR 50 thousand for great ‘Idea Pitching’. Resource Funding worth INR 500 K was also available for innovative participants. Welcoming the elite guest-speakers, LPU Director General (Operations) Subhashish Mazumdar assured that LPU has all the resources to let students develop on entrepreneurial lines.
Top motivators were from TiE Global; PumpKart.com; Startup Buddy; Brand Samosa; Innowork; MentorKart; Boudhik Ventures; WittyFeed; and more, who shared pros and cons from their respective Start-Up Journeys. The summit proved to be a lifetime experience for the students to listen to the successful entrepreneurs and their journey. Students also interacted with them to learn as how to proceed on working like them or more of them. The Summit was supported by European Union Funding Programme through ‘Enprendia’; Startup Punjab; Student Entrepreneurship Cell at LPU; and Startup Solutions (Pvt Ltd) ‘Trozorro”.
Motivating the students, an illustrious LPU Alumnus & presently Co-Founder at ‘Innowork’, Bibin Babu shared various tales of his early failings and successes thereof to inspire students on positive lines. He informed them as a student of LPU, I know LPU has all eco system for nurturing start-ups. He advised students not to do so many things at a time; start thinking clearly in second or third year of studies what to do for a career; take along like-minded people in your entrepreneurial journey; do not delay in launching your feasibly good product in the market; and, have a backup for your team. If anyone thinks it as a soft journey, it’s not that. One has to do all sorts of things even most of the hours of the day to be one day successful. He implored them to be successful entrepreneurs through innovations and create employment for others.
Founder & CEO of Pumpkart.com K S Bhatia shared that his start-up was the first in India to represent the country in the United Nations. Chairman Tie Global Mahavir Sharma desired students to identify problem first of all and then step ahead to find perfect solutions. Founder of CEO of Brand SAMOSA, Sam Baisla talked about this innovative ‘Digital Marketing Agency’ which helps ‘Small Business & Local Brands’ win in the Digital Age. He inspired youth to become entrepreneurs & leaders and together build a better world.
Similarly, Co-Founder of World’s 2nd Largest & India’s Largest Viral Content Company- Witty Feed, Parveen Singhal shared that they at the company realized the potential that content and social media had at that time. Hence, created a website wittyfeed.com to solve problems for the social media distributors. It is a platform where any blogger or writer could sign up, write for it and monetize their creations easily. Founder Mentorkart, Ashish Khare, a renowned Startup Mentor, guided students to innovate, build, and implement business solutions & products in the field of Information Technology. He also talked about strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. Co-Founder at Boudhikventures, Saurabh Trivedi mentored students about strategizing business growth based on innovative solutions.
