Nirmala Sitharaman launches eBook, Swavalamban Sashakt - Gearing Women Power
The ebook is brought out jointly by SIDBI and COWE with an aim to celebrate the inspirational entrepreneurial journeys of Women Entrepreneurs
Hyderabad, August 24, 2021: Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs(COWE) India eBook, Swavalamban Sashakt - Gearing Women Power launched. The e-Book was launched by the Honorable Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Government of India, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman and Mr Siddhart Nath Singh, Minister for MSMEs, State of UP recently in a function held at Lucknow. Building a community of powerful women is the sole aim behind the initiative of this e-book.
Swavalamban Sashakt Campaign is a National level outreach program on the virtual platform with a series of immensely impactful and power-packed sessions to give a fillip to the Stand-Up India Scheme, wherein collateral-free loans are available to women-owned Greenfield ventures which meet the specified criteria.
It was launched during the launch ceremony of Ubharte Sitare Fund, a joint venture of SIDBI and EXIM Bank.
Mr Sivasubramanian Ramann, CMD of SIDBI in a message published in the e-book quoting Father of the National, Mahatma Gandhi, said "Man can never be woman's equal in the spirit of selfless service with which nature has endowed her". Echoing his sentiments, SIDBI has always prioritized the propagation of women entrepreneurship through promotion and development initiatives. Our Umbrella Programme, Mission Swavalamban, carries a mandate of 'Each House, One Entrepreneur", and women are the first ambassadors of our mission. We believe that it is women who instil the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst the youth. SIDBI and COWE are bringing out an e-book to showcase admirable women entrepreneurs and their socio-economic rise. I salute the women featured in this e-book, as they are a true embodiment of the independence of entrepreneurship.
The book outlined 'Why Entrepreneurship is the right choice', A sneak peek into Stand-Up India; Business Modules & Inspiring Stories, Bankers' Perspective, Dos and Don'ts for Entrepreneur, Contact details of bankers who worked with Stand-up India scheme and made a difference etc and other.
Dr Jayashree Suresh, an Entrepreneurship Coach in an article published in the book said, "A most crucial aspect of an entrepreneurial journey is skill not money'
The 70 pages English book has success stories of women entrepreneurs like Komal Jain, Founder of Sow Fresh India LLP; Ms Gayatri Rao, Founder & CEO of EFGH; Binita Lahkari, Owner of The B Bake, Bakery Shop; Ms Jayanti Ramesh, MD of Srivari Foods and many others.
COWE is a Hyderabad headquartered national body with chapters across India. It is one of the leading Women Business Associations which works towards enhancing the spirit of Women Entrepreneurship. COWE INDIA the association of women business owners has 10 chapters and 1200+ members across India. of life.
The e-book was launched in association with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).
The e - Book, celebrating the inspirational entrepreneurial journeys of Women Entrepreneurs, who were part of the Swavalamban Sashakt Mega Campaign, a 20 Webinar Series, organised to increase the outreach of the SUI(Stand-Up India) Scheme, was unveiled recently at Lucknow.
A fitting tribute to the spirit of "AMRIT MAHOTSAV'' the book has been compiled by COWE and SIDBI teams, as an ode to the spirit of entrepreneurship and ignite the spark of Swavalamban in many such budding women entrepreneurs.
