Nizam’s Kin Organize Inter-faith Holi Celebrations
Hyderabad, March 23, 2019: Continuing the rare gesture of promoting inclusivity and positive bonding among different communities and faiths, Asaf Jahi Nawab Nizam’s kin has organized a unique celebration at Hyatt hotel, Gachibowli on Saturday. Invite by his friend Ms.Roshini, G.M. Raunaq Yar Khan, the great grandson of Nizam sixth, has organized the ‘Interfaith Holi Celebrations’ inviting several important personalities, government officials, socialites and others from across the city. Earlier this event was called as "Ghuttala at Bhoot Bangla". This event has been organized for past 33 years inviting people to high end community bonding, through the gaiety surrounding Holi. It's to commemorate the 6th Nizam, HEH. Mir Mahboob Ali Khan, the most Secular ruler of South India, who is revered as a saint by many from all communities by supplicating at his Tomb in Hyderabad & shrines in Marathwada. He also is the Raunaq Yar Khan's cherished Idol & also great grandfather. Earlier expats were invited to play Holi as an introduction to local culture as part of this event. However, this year Tribal music culture was introduced to the present generation to promote the chances of their getting rehired for their only means of tradition livelihood as well as to promote intercommunity bonding. Earlier, this event used to be organized by Raunaq’s parents for him and his friends with pure unconditional fun and with no thought crossing anyone’s head regarding which community’s celebration it was. Dignitaries who were participated in the event include Special Chief Secretary of Telangana government Ajay Mishra, Mrs.Van Fleming, British Councils Wife Actress Sanoor Sana, Kavya Kishan Reddy, Anita Adwani, and other socialites like Joseph Sunder, Shaniya Mishra and others.
