No Public meeting allowed during 48 hours period 

Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Jitendra Jorwal on Thursday asked all the political parties and their candidates to strictly follow the regulations during the 48-hour period before the polling. No public meeting will be allowed during the period of 48 hours ending with the hours fixed for the conclusion of poll.

Ludhiana, December 19, 2024: Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Jitendra Jorwal on Thursday asked all the political parties and their candidates to strictly follow the regulations during the 48-hour period before the polling. No public meeting will be allowed during the period of 48 hours ending with the hours fixed for the conclusion of poll.

Jorwal mentioned that as per the provisions of Section 110 of the Punjab State Election Commission Act, 1994, the convening or holding of any public meeting will not be allowed during the period of 48 hours ending with the hours fixed for the conclusion of poll.  Further, the outsiders must not move around in an unauthorized manner particularly in the vicinity of the polling stations and they must not disturb the conduct of free, fair and peaceful polls of Municipal Corporation Ludhiana, various municipal Councils and one Nagar Panchayat.
