Ludhiana, December 27, 2012: Badish Jindal, National President of Federation of Associations of Small Industries of India(FASII) has been inducted as a Member of the Central Board of Trustees of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) vide the “Gazette of India” Notification dated the 3rd December, 2012. 

The Central Board of Trustees, EPFO is a statutory body constituted by the Central Government under the provisions of section 5A of the Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act,1952 (Act 19 of 1952).

CBT of EPFO is, indeed, a tripartite body(Government, Employees’ representative and Employers’ representative) administering three schemes of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation namely (a) Employees Provident Fund Scheme, 1952 (b) Employees Pension Scheme, 1995 and (c) Employees Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme, 1976.  

The Union Minister of Labour and Employment Mallikarjun Kharge is the Chairman of the Board.  

Kodikunnil Suresh, Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment, is the Vice Chairman of the Board.

Main Functions of the Board are; Administration of the funds created and vested with the Board and performing other works incidental thereto, delegation of administrative & Financial powers as it may deem necessary for efficient administration of the Schemes, appointment of officers and staff, maintenance of accounts of Income and Expenditure in prescribed form and manner and submission of Audited Accounts (with comments of CAG) and Annual Report on performance of the Organisation to the Government.

Badish Jindal, National President, FASII,  is eager, keen and desirous of helping enterprises particularly Micro and Small Enterprises who are facing difficulties on the EPF-front, said S. Pandiaraj, Executive Secretary of FASII.
