Nomination papers of 22 candidates rejected during scrutiny of papers
District Election Officer Sakshi Sawhney on Wednesday rejected the nomination papers of 22 candidates during scrutiny exercise and now 44 candidates have left in the fray.
Ludhiana, May 15, 2024: District Election Officer Sakshi Sawhney on Wednesday rejected the nomination papers of 22 candidates during scrutiny exercise and now 44 candidates have left in the fray.
Out of 70 total nominations filed in Ludhiana, four were multiple nominations.
General Observer for Ludhiana parliamentary constituency Divya Mittal, IAS was also present during the scrutiny held in the court room of Deputy Commissioner-cum District Election Officer. The representatives of the candidates were also present.
During the scrutiny, the District Election Officer and other officers checked the papers submitted by the candidates, in the presence of the General Election Observer. Now, 44 candidates have been left in the fray including Ashok Parashar (AAP) , Amrinder Singh Raja Warring (INC) Davinder Singh (BSP), Ranjit Singh (SAD-Badal), Ravneet Singh (BJP), Amandeep Singh (Sehajdhari Sikh Party), Amritpal Singh (SAD-Asr), Santosh Kumar (Bharti Inqalaab Party), Shivam Yadav (Global Republican Party), Harvinder Kaur (Samajik Sangharsh Party), Darshan Singh (National Justice Party), Davinder Singh (Aam Lok Party United), Devinder Bhagria (Hindustan Shakti Sena), Pritpal Singh (Bahujan Darvida Party), Bhupinder Singh (Bhartiya Jawan Kisan Party), Rakesh Kumar (Sunehra Bharat Party) and ajiv Kumar (Jansewa Driver Party), Independent candidates Sanjiv Kumar, Simrandeep Singh, Sudhir Kumar Tripathi, Kanhiya Lal, Kamal Pawar, Kamaljeet Singh, Karnail Singh, Kirpal Singh, Kuldeep Kumar Sharma, Gurdeep Singh Kahlon, Gurmeet Singh Kharecm, Chandi, Jai Prakash Jain, Naresh Kumar Dhingan, Paramjeet Singh, Palwinder Kaur, Baljeet Singh, Baldev Singh, Baldev Raj Katna, Balwinder Singh, Bhola Singh, Rajinder Ghai, Ravinder Pal Singh, Rupinder Kumar, Lakhvir Singh, Vishal Kumar and Vipin Kumar.
Meanwhile, Sawhney said that the last date of withdrawal of candidature was May 17. She also said that polling for the Lok Sabha elections would be held on June 1 and counting would take place on June 4.
