Non-performance and corruption of congress-led MC Dharamshala shall be main issue in Corporation: CM
Dharamshala and Palampur Municipal Corporation will go to poll on 7th April
Dharamshala: CM of Himachal, Jai Ram Thakur said that in Dharamshala the development works were remain in standstill position during the tenure of congress lead MC in Dharamshala. He said that there were many projects hit by corruption of many cores of rupees including underground dust bin project of the city, and BJP will not only bring its truth to the public but also punish the culprits after coming into power in Dharamshala MC.
CM was addressing a press conference in Dharamshala on Tuesday. He said, “We wish that public should bring BJP candidates to power in Dharamshala MC, so that the development works should take its desired pace and all the pending projects including the Smart City projects should be completed in time.”
He added that BJP is not making any fresh commitments for the city but we promise the citizens of Dharamshala that We shall complete 250 crore project of Smart city, within a year. These projects have been side lined by the congress lead Municipal Corporation.”
CM said that when there is a BJP lead government in the centre and in the state, it could be easily understood that only BJP can work with full power in all the four MCs of HP namely Dharamshala, Palampur, Mandi and Solan, where the voting shall be conducted on 7th February.
CM said that Dharamshala is an important tourists destination in the state as H H The Dalai Lama lives here, who attracts people from all over the world. “we can increase this inflow of international tourists by many fold if the Gaggal airport of Dharamshala could be expanded for bigger planes. The center has already agreed to this proposal. And I am thankful to Finance commission Government of India for recommending 400 crore for its expansion.” He said that the opposition had challenged to conduct elections on party symbol, we have accepted it.
He said that after the grand win of BJP in assembly elections, the party has won all the other elections including Lok Sabha in last 3 years ,and he is confident that party will win all the four MC elections.
“Our destination is the repeat of BJP government in HP in 2022 elections,” said CM.
CM also addressed few public meetings in different areas of the City.
MP Kishan Kapoor, Ministers Rakesh Pathania and smt Sarveen choudhary were accompanying CM.
In Kangra district, Dharamshala and Palampur Municipal Corporation will go to poll on 7th April. In total 32 wards of Municipal Corporation Dharamshala and Palampur, 72,564 voters will decide the fate of 144 candidates. For the 17 wards of Dharamshala, 39,231 voters shall decide the fate of 80 candidates and 33,333 people will vote for 64 candidates in 15 wards of Palampur.
