None shall be checked for corona report at entry for state: CM
Says doing so gives people a lot of inconvenience and difficulty to people
Dharamshala: Jai Ram Thakur CM of HP said that as the increase in Covid 19 cases have become alarming in the state, we have issued an advisory to check the visitors from seven most affected states of the country and the government has prepared a mechanism to monitor it.
Talking to the Media at Dharamshala helipad this morning CM said, “We have taken care that our tourist industry does not suffer in this tourist session, as Corona damaged the entire tourist session last year. So , in the SOP released for this industry, we have made a mechanism to monitor it accordingly . The tourists and other visitors will not be harassed by stopping for Corona reports at state borders, Because doing so gives people a lot of inconvenience and difficulty."
He added that as the majority of the visitors will stay in the Hotels , we have made the mechanism of the fresh SOP for the visitors from seven states, that it could be enforced and applied on their arrival at the place of their stay.
Earlier on Monday after registering sharp increase in number of deaths and new Covid cases in the last 45 days, Himachal Pradesh made it mandatory for visitors from high load states of Punjab, Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh to carry a RT-PCR negative report for a 72-hour period prior to their visit to HP . The orders will implement April 16 onwards.
CM arrived here this morning from Shimla for a day's visit. He will preside over a high level meeting here to monitor the Corona situation in the Kangra district and surrounding areas.
Today in Dharamshala the Mayor and Deputy mayor of the local Municipal corporation will also be chosen by the newly elected councillors. Here BJP has 8 members and Congress 5 members (4 Independents) in the 17 members house, and no political party could have its Mayor without the support of Independents. When CM was asked about it, he ignored to reply.
