Nova IVF Fertility opens its 57th fertility center in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, November 15, 2022: Nova IVF Fertility (NIF), one of India’s leading fertility & IVF chains, announced its expansion in Punjab with the launch of its Ludhiana center. The chain of fertility centers also has its presence in Jalandhar. Located in the city, couples can get access to state-of-the-art fertility treatments with the latest technologies and a team of well-experienced IVF specialists and Embryologists.

Addressing the media persons here today, Dr Gurpreet Batra, Fertility Consultant, at Nova IVF Fertility said “Infertility is increasing in India, and it is not just bound to urban cities anymore. Even in tier 2 cities like Ludhiana, we have observed a rising trend in infertility among men and women. Couples particularly NRI’s get married late, live apart for a long duration, and often plan to have a baby post-35 years. we receive at least 5 out of 30 males in a month battling fertility issues as they would have habitually consumed drugs. In men, we have observed conditions where the sperm count is extremely low and of poor quality.

Additionally, Dr. Batra adds that  This condition is called Secondary infertility and is almost seen in 35% of all cases. Late marriages and the long age gap between children are also contributing to rising secondary infertility. However, couples need not worry as they can consult a fertility specialist and get the right kind of treatment.

According to a study, around 10 to 15% of Indian couples are suffering from fertility issues and are unable to conceive through natural means and only 1% of these couples undergo fertility evaluation. The rate is even lower in Tier 2 and Tier 3 areas where there is stigma and lack of awareness around infertility

Speaking about the treatment for infertility, Dr. Gurpreet Batra added, “It becomes crucial to address and create awareness around infertility as we hardly give importance to our reproductive health. Thankfully with the advancement in science, infertility is now a treatable condition. Couples, particularly NRIs who live apart for a long, should plan their pregnancy on time. If they are unable to conceive after a year of unprotected sex, they need to consult a fertility specialist. Age plays an extremely important role in the success of an IVF treatment. Couples need to be educated more about reproductive health, particularly concepts like ovulation, and fertility window. If you have diagnosed conditions like PCOD, Endometriosis, you need to plan your pregnancy, well in advance, as these conditions can hinder your fertility. Men with a history of substance abuse, are more likely to be having low sperm count. It is crucial to maintain a healthy lifestyle with a good diet and regular exercise. Both men and women must understand that infertility is treatable to a large extent and come forth to achieve their dream of parenthood.

Shobhit Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer at Nova IVF Fertility said “Our aim at Nova IVF Fertility has always been to provide comprehensive solutions in fertility care on par with global standards to couples across the country. In recent times, infertility has been on the rise. While couples in metropolitan cities have easy access to multiple fertility treatment centers, access to quality fertility treatment in other Tier 2 & 3 cities/towns is abysmal. By foraying into this part of Punjab, we are hoping to cater to couples not just from the city but even peripheral areas. Our dedicated and skilled team of clinicians, embryologists, and psychological counsellors, from Ludhiana, are thrilled to provide their expertise to couples across this region to fulfil the dream of parenthood.
