Now donate stationary items and toys for needy children at “Donation Corner”
Deputy Commissioner inaugurates “Donation Corner” at District Administrative Complex today
Ludhiana, April 26, 2022: With the slogan, “Waste Wealth-Give & Take”, District Administration Ludhiana has started a unique initiative under which a “Donation Corner” has been set up outside the entry of DC office, here. In this donation corner, residents can now donate stationary items and toys for needy children, that would be distributed further.
Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik inaugurated the “Donation Corner” comprising a “Stationary ATM” and “Toys Bank” at District Administrative Complex today.
She also appreciated the efforts of ADC (Rural Development) Amit Kumar Panchal and Assistant Commissioner (Under Training) Dr Harjinder Singh Bedi for coming up with this great idea for the welfare of society.
While speaking to media persons on the occasion, the DC said that the “Stationary ATM” would cater to the needs of slum children, those in rehabilitation Centre and needy children. She said that residents can donate new/old stationary items such as Pencils, sharpeners, erasers, pens, colours, Notebooks, registers, blank papers, Children books etc.
The “Stationary ATM” will help the District Administration to donate used items in households and offices. All items will be collected and cleaned by Hunar Hut Ludhiana and would the further be donated to children of slum area, orphanages, poor children studying in government schools etc.
The DC further informed that the “Toys Bank” offers facilitiy to residents to donate toys of their
children or grandchildren so that after repair by Hunar Hut, they can be further donated to Aanganwaris, Slum children, kids in orphanages and to other needy children. She said that needy Parents, caretakers etc can also take away these toys items whenever they require, but parents should be accompanied by their children.
She said that main aim of this initiative to involve residents in nation building and for helping the needy. She said that more such initiatives would also be started in the coming days.
Amit Kumar Panchal and Dr Harjinder Singh Bedi said that more such donation corners would also be started in other parts of the district as well.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included ADC (General) Rahul Chaba, Assistant Commissioner (General) Gurbir Singh Kohli, besides several others.
