in a statement here today, he added, “There could be any miss-happening but luckily Prime Minister, could reach back to Delhi safely.” He said the Punjab Government has not taken any responsibility to receive the Prime Minister with honour and the programme was completely shattered.
Further, he said at Ferozepur, Prime Minister was to give lot of funds to start two Medical Colleges and other projects. In toto, now Punjab Government may not get any support and financial help, he apprehended.
Being the Chairman of Federation of Auto Parts Manufacturers, that Auto Parts manufacturer from Punjab 30% to 40% may move and established their factories in Gujarat, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand.
He pointed out that a few years back, Punjab was number 1 in Industries, then it came to Number 2 because Haryana superseded Punjab but now it is at Number 18th or 19th in India.
Bajaj said lot of attraction is given by Tata and big factories from east because the Labour is very cheap, for example, in Ludhiana daily wages of labour working in Punjab is between Rs.450/- to Rs.550/-, whereas in Jharkhand, it is between Rs.200 to Rs.225/- . Punjab Industry is facing the shortage of labour but there is abundance of Labour in Jharkhand. Similarly, Jharkhand is also having local labour and steel at the door in Jharkhand.
“In Gujarat, the Government of Gujarat is promoting a lot to the Industries and they have given assurance that wherever the factories are there, the Seaport will be within the range of 150 Kms. So, this is one of the biggest & biggest attractions for the manufacturers cum exporters.” He said
Adding, he said years back, the same problem came up with the industries when they approached the government, they refused to help.
Concluding, he said so, 50% Mandi Gobindgarh Industries have been shifted out of Punjab and from Ludhiana all the big Industries have met their activities 80% to 90% out of Punjab. Even Hero Cycles, Avon Cycles and some more Cycle Industries even in Automobile parts, lot of industries have shifted to some other states, as there is no help to the industries to promote the business.
