NSS camp at Guru Hargobind Khalsa College concludes
The NSS camp at Guru Hargobind Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana, supervised by Prof. Shelka, Prof. Vishavpreet Kaur, Prof. Pawanveer Singh, and Dr. Rajesh Kumar, has concluded after a seven-day duration. With the approval of Punjab University, Chandigarh, 50 dedicated volunteers from both the boys and girls units orchestrated a series of impactful activities, upholding discipline throughout the duration of the camp.
Ludhiana, November 21, 2023: The NSS camp at Guru Hargobind Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana, supervised by Prof. Shelka, Prof. Vishavpreet Kaur, Prof. Pawanveer Singh, and Dr. Rajesh Kumar, has concluded after a seven-day duration. With the approval of Punjab University, Chandigarh, 50 dedicated volunteers from both the boys and girls units orchestrated a series of impactful activities, upholding discipline throughout the duration of the camp.
The daily regimen commenced with morning prayers, followed by updates on current affairs and invigorating yoga sessions. Emphasis was placed on the significance of physical fitness and adopting a healthy lifestyle. Post-morning tea, volunteers engaged in enlightening lectures on 'Blood Donation,' 'NSS Importance,' 'Clean India and Environment,' delivered by subject experts. The camp extended its reach through cleanliness drives at the college campus and Premjit Memorial Hospital, as well as social awareness rallies in Ghuman and Toosa villages.
Cultural, academic, and artistic competitions showcased the talents of the volunteers, complemented by thought-provoking film screenings addressing prevalent social issues. The volunteers actively participated in planting and nurturing plants, cultivating a sense of environmental responsibility.
During the opening and closing ceremonies, Dr. Harpreet Singh, the college principal, underscored the paramount importance of social service. He expressed gratitude to the volunteers and program officers for instilling enduring qualities of social service in the students, enriching their personalities for a lifetime.
