Chandigarh, April 22, 2025: The NSS, Panjab University, today celebrated Earth Day on the theme "Our Power, Our Planet." The programme was sponsored by the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology as part of the Environment Education Programme of the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
Dr. Parveen Goyal, Programme Coordinator, spoke on the importance of saving our planet Earth from pollution and global warming. To help restore the flora and fauna, pots filled with water and bird feed were placed at various locations across the UIET campus. Volunteers showed great enthusiasm by making posters and slogans to promote saving the planet.
Dr. Sonia Sharma, Programme Officer, NSS, PU, also addressed the volunteers, emphasising the enduring relevance and importance of saving planet Earth for future generations.
As part of the programme, volunteers took the Mission LiFE pledge to save the environment, and a tree plantation drive was carried out. Prof. Shankar, Prof. Rajesh, and Dr. Anjali graced the event with their benign presence.
