NSS, Panjab University celebrated World Environment Day
NSS, Panjab University celebrated June 5, 2024 as the World Environment Day. Cleanliness and tree plantation drive was organised along with oath taking ceremony under the Environment Education Programme.
Chandigarh, June 6, 2024: NSS, Panjab University celebrated June 5 as the World Environment Day. Cleanliness and tree plantation drive was organised along with oath taking ceremony under the Environment Education Programme.
The drive was organised to create awareness and a sense of responsibility amongst the students. The activity was a grand success under the able guidance of Dr. Parveen Goyal, Programme Coordinator, NSS, PU, along with Dr. Sonia Bhardwaj and Dr Sarvnarinder Programme Officer, NSS, PU, Chd.
The Event initiated with oath taking ceremony by the chief guest of the event Prof Sanjeev Puri, Director UIET. He stated that looking at the heat waves this year every individual should take an oath to plant atleast two plants and contribute towards the mother Earth. He also stressed that the plants also need care and love. The event was followed by watering of plants at the UIET campus, PU.
Faculty Members of PU, Students and Staff members participated in the event.
The Celebration began a day before i.e. on 4.6.2024 With a Poster Making Competition Organized on the Theme Save Earth. More than 10 teams participated in the event.
Around 80 Students took part in this event with great enthusiasm.
