NSS Special Camp going on at Lyallpur Khalsa College
Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is committed for the overall development of its students. Under the direction of Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, a Special Seven Day NSS Camp is being organized at the adopted village Johlan from 23rd December.
Jalandhar, December 26, 2023: Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is committed for the overall development of its students. Under the direction of Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, a Special Seven Day NSS Camp is being organized at the adopted village Johlan from 23rd December.
Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh initiated the camp and motivated the campers to participate in the camp with discipline and punctuality. He added that these camps are very vital for youth as they get an opportunity to learn about team work, discipline, national integrity, self maintenance, and cleanliness. This year the theme of the camp is “Swacchtta and Self Development”.
Chief Program Officer Prof. Satpal Singh informed that during the camp, activities like cleanliness at the public places, awareness rallies, making of compost pit from dry and wet waste, interlock tile at waste treatment plant at Bolina Doaba and plantation will be organized. In addition to this, lectures on safety and security, meditation, career development, human rights and values by experts will be delivered.
On the fourth day of the camp, Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad from Punjab Armed Police delivered a demonstration on what to do and not to do in a situation of threat to safety and security of civilians. ASI Ravinder Singh with his team in details explained the reasons of spread of terrorism and how youth can identify and stay away from such anti national elements.
In the academic session, Amarjit Singh, Swarccha Mehra, from NGO Heartfulness, conducted a practical meditation “Transmission with Relaxation”. During the event, T-Shirt of NSS LKC Unit was also launched.
